BPO Customer Acquistion
Corporations around the world are realizing the value of outsourcing non-core business processes to a specialist who can do a better job of that process than they can do themselves. Even core processes are being outsourced more often than before.

Advertising is a good example. Every company in the world has a sales and marketing division with people who have a deep understanding of the products and services they sell. Why then, do they rely on focused advertising firms to design and deliver their marketing communications and media plans for them?

It is simple. These Advertising firms are more focused, have deeper knowledge and broader and better experience in what they do. They specialize and that's what makes them better at handling your communications. To ensure that your customers keep giving you their business in the future, a whole industry has evolved that focuses only on running contact centers. They wear your shirt and provide superior service to your customers, so that the customers keep coming back. But that had a problem too. Their services came at a cost. Costs which are inherent and driven by their geographical location.

The BPO market is in its early high growth phase and is growing at an exponential rate. Business process outsourcing is a critical function and cannot be treated as tactical function. It needs to be a strategic initiative. India is emerging as a preferred global outsourcing hub, because of India's several unique advantages:
  • Low cost of qualified staff
  • Reasonable and reliable infrastructure availability
  • A large pool of English-speaking and Western-thinking people
  • India's time zone position
  • Favourable government policies
  • Proven outsourcing successes with large US companies
Business Process Outsourcing requires a good understanding of a customer's business process, domain knowledge and expected service levels. Providers have to demonstrate their ability to deliver service and not just provide skilled resources. It is becoming more imminent that the management team has to be credible and have CRM industry expertise. When you pitch business to a potential US client the background and experience of your team is what makes the most impact. Securing business from abroad is remains the biggest challenge being faced by Indian outsourcers today. Sales and marketing costs are high and experienced resources are not available to do the job effectively. Teaming with the right company for the right job is very important to be successful in this industry.
